Can dogs eat bread (plain)?
Why
Plain white or wheat bread is generally safe in small amounts but is a filler with no nutrients beyond a balanced diet and lots of carbs that can add weight. The real danger is add-ins: raisins and grapes are highly toxic, garlic is harmful, and xylitol is deadly. Raw yeast dough is especially dangerous because it rises and ferments into ethanol in the stomach.
How much is safe
An occasional small piece of plain bread; never bread with raisins, garlic, xylitol, or raw dough.
